Curry is Board
Certified in the fields of Personal Injury Trial Law and Civil Trial
Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Curry has extensive
trial and appellate experience in federal and state courts
throughout East and Southeast Texas. He has tried to jury verdict
over 100 cases, including professional liability, interstate and
intrastate trucking, industrial, insurance coverage, and commercial
litigation.
Curry has handled
appeals on a variety of subjects, including Texas Supreme Court
cases dealing with mental anguish damages and the lost chance of
survival doctrine.
Curry is active in
the Texas Association of Defense Counsel, Inc., holding positions on
the board of directors for several years. He is also a frequent
author and lecturer at continuing education programs.
Curry is AV rated by
Martindale-Hubbell. He also has been recognized as a Super Lawyer by
Texas Monthly from 2003 to the present. Curry served on the State
Bar Rules Committee from 1997-2003. He is a member of the American
Bar Association, Jefferson County Bar Association, Montgomery County
Bar Association, and The Woodlands Bar Association. He has been a
member of the Texas Association of Defense Counsel, Inc. and served
on the Board of Directors from 1992-2000 and from 2003 to the
present. He was Editor of the Medical Malpractice Newsletter from
1989-1995. From 1984 to present, he has been a member of the Defense
Research Institute.
He attended the
University of Texas at El Paso and received a bachelor's degree in
Biology from Lamar University in 1978. Curry graduated cum laude
from Texas Tech University School of Law in 1982, where he was a
member of the Board of Editors of the Texas Tech Law Review and a
member of the Order of the Coif. He is also a member of the Texas
Bar Foundation and the American Board of Trial Advocates.
Curry is married to Susan McFall Cooksey and is the father of three
children.
Curry practices primarily in the firm's office in The
Woodlands.
