J. Hambright has tried numerous jury and non-jury cases in the state
and federal courts. He also routinely handles cases before the
National Labor Relations Board and discrimination charges before the
Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Texas Workforce
Commission.
Robert is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas
Board of Legal Specialization. His primary practice area is
representing employers in labor and employment law matters,
particularly litigation. He has represented employers and other
defendants in a number of cases with published opinions, as shown in
appendix A.
Since 1986, he has been listed every year in the national reference
book, The Best Lawyers in America, under the category of Labor and
Employment Law.
Robert was selected as a Texas Super Lawyer in the field of
Employment Litigation by Texas Monthly each year since 2003.
Robert is a published author of articles on labor and employment
law subjects, and most recently he wrote the chapter on the federal
ERISA statute for the Employment Law Handbook published by the Texas
Association of Business and Chambers of Commerce.
Robert served as Chairman of the 500-member Labor and Employment
Law Section of the State Bar of Texas from 1986-1987.
Robert attended Southern Methodist University where he earned three
degrees: B.A. 1978; B.B.A. 1978; J.D. 1981. He was admitted to the
Texas Bar in 1981.
Robert is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for
the Eastern District of Texas, the U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of Texas, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth
Circuit, the U.S. Supreme Court, and the U.S. Tax Court.
Robert is a Life Fellow in the Texas Bar Foundation.
Robert is also a member of the Rotary Club of Beaumont, and is a
life member of the national Eagle Scout Association of the Boy Scouts
of America.
Robert is married and has two daughters.
Robert practices primarily in the firm's office in Beaumont.
