Donean
has a broad-based litigation practice with an emphasis on
employment, products liability, and toxic torts. Her range of
experience includes cases in timber, governmental, retail, business
and premises liability litigation.
Donean has been Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal
Specialization in Personal Injury Trial Law since 1997.
Her representative experience includes the following:

Lead and co-Lead counsel in personal injury cases involving products
liability, premises liability, and automobile and 18 wheeler
accidents.
- Lead counsel in a variety of employment law cases, including
sexual harassment, ADA, age discrimination, and gender
discrimination. She has been involved in disputes over federal
overtime laws and corporate officer liability.
- Lead and co-lead counsel in asbestos friction, electrical, and
premises cases statewide.
- Lead counsel in civil rights cases and Texas Tort Claims Act
cases including false arrest, denial of medical care and excessive
force.
- Lead counsel in premises benzene cases.
Donean was named by Texas Monthly
magazine as a Rising Star in the legal profession for the years
2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007.
She has also
been recognized by Texas Monthly as a Super Lawyer for the years
2008 and 2009.
She is a member of the USLAW employment practice group, currently
serving as Vice President. In 2009 she received the
USLAW O’Hagan award for dedication and support to the USLAW network.
She is also a current member of the Texas Pattern Jury Charges
Committee for Business, Consumer, Insurance and Employment and has
been a member since 2009.
She served as President of the Jefferson County Bar Association
during 2004-2005 and as President of Jefferson County Bar Foundation
during 2004-2005. She currently serves on
the Editorial Committee of the Jefferson County Bar Journal.
She has been a member and served in the past as President of the
Jefferson County Young Lawyers Association She is a member of the
Lamar University Alumni Association and served as President from
2001-2002.
Donean graduated with honors from the University of Texas School
of Law in 1991, where she was a member of the Board of Advocates.
She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science
degree from Lamar University in 1987.
Donean practices primarily in the firm’s office in
Beaumont and The
Woodlands.
