Walter has a general practice with an emphasis in the areas of real estate, finance and business litigation. Walter represents buyers and sellers of unimproved and improved property, real estate developers, landlords, banks in connection with commercial and real estate loans, workouts and bankruptcy, and property owners associations. He also handles business litigation primarily related to contract and real property disputes.

Walter obtained his undergraduate degree with honors at The University of Texas at Austin in 1970 and is a 1973 graduate, with honors, of the University of Texas School of Law. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1974 and is a member of the Montgomery County Bar Association and the Corpus Christi Bar Association.

Prior to joining the firm, Walter practiced law with Meredith, Donnell & Abernathy, L.L.P. in Corpus Christi, Texas; Brown McCarroll, L.L.P. in Austin and Houston; and most recently with Carll Cooke & Donnenberg L.L.P. in The Woodlands.

Walter is active in community affairs. His board memberships include Montgomery County United Way, the Economic Development Partnership, Montgomery County Youth Services, Texas New Community Alliance, South Montgomery Woodlands Chamber of Commerce, The Woodlands Symphony Orchestra, The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Performing Arts and the Commercial Real Estate Association of Montgomery County.

Walter practices primarily in the firm's office in The Woodlands.
